Williams Company Wins ACG SMART Award
06/14/10
On May 26, 2010 – Williams Company was among seven winners, chosen from twenty-five finalists in six categories, to receive a 2010 ACG SMART Award. Bruce Williams accepted the award in the Real Estate Category.
Each year, the Orlando Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG Orlando) recognizes outstanding companies with annual sales of at least $10 million and not more than $1 billion for their accomplishments in the previous fiscal or calendar year.
Bruce Williams, Chairman of Williams Company, was nominated then interviewed as a finalist. He was evaluated based on the value Williams Company brings to the region in terms of corporate culture, creativity, business acumen and economic contribution. When asked what advice he had to share from his experience, Bruce responded “First, treat everybody with respect, not just the vice presidents in your own company but also the administrative assistants, receptionists, the laborers, everybody. Second, provide the client with a level of service that exceeds their expectations, which in our industry means getting it done on time. Third, be financially conservative. Certainly, in this recession, our financial conservatism has paid off in spades. Be careful of debt; make sure you have plenty of cash; don’t take risks when you can’t handle the consequences if you’re wrong.”
