Project Description:
Williams Company broke ground on this design-build project for Florida Outdoor Equipment in September of 2009. This warehouse expansion added 32,400 SF of floor space for high piled storage and two additional dock bays. The construction is concrete, tilt-panel with structural steel joist and deck. During the design process, Williams Company and Macgregor Associates Architects implemented Green and LEED style design aspects, to provide the owner with an energy efficient and cost savings building. The design consisted of forty skylights, in conjuction with exterior photo cells to control the intensity of the interior T5 lights. To further cost saving measures, motion sensors were placed throughout the existing warehouse, which allows only the necessary lights to be turned on. The expansion project was completed in December 2009, just three months after breaking ground.
