Project Description:
IKEA, the largest furniture manufacturer and retailer in the world, selected Williams Company to build two of their three stores in Florida - Orlando and Tampa. Both projects were constructed using concrete tilt-wall panels and included a second floor steel mezzanine structure with a 100,000 SF elevated concrete slab. Williams Company self-performed the concrete work on both projects. Both projects include a 30-foot high warehouse space, retail showroom and marketplace areas, and a full-service restaurant. The Orlando project was constructed to meet the USGBC's LEED-Certified designation. The Tampa project incorporated many of the same energy-efficient design principles used in Orlando, including roof-mounted solar panels that help reduce the store's electrical consumption.
